Ten Minutes of Stretching Before the Kids Wake Up

A quiet living-room stretch sequence you can do in pajamas before the first backpack zipper, no gym, no new gear.

You do not need a new personality at 5:45 a.m. You need your hips to forgive yesterday’s school pickup posture.

Rules

  • Stay in pajamas.
  • No app that lectures you.
  • If a child wakes early, the stretch ends, that is not failure.

The sequence (about ten minutes)

  1. Cat-cow on hands and knees, eight slow breaths.
  2. Child’s poseforehead down, arms long or by sides.
  3. Figure-four on your backone side, then the other.
  4. Hamstring reach seated or standing, gentle, not heroic.
  5. Neck rolls and shoulder shrugs while the coffee finishes.

Floor space next to the bed is enough. A yoga mat is nice if you already own one; a towel is fine.

What this is not

It is not HIIT. It is not “earning” breakfast. It is a small claim on your body before the house starts asking for things.
