Halloween for Dogs: A Bandana Beats a Full Costume

Skip the stressful full costume, a bandana or scarf you already own is enough festive for most dogs on walk night.

Some dogs love costumes. Many tolerate them for one photo and then melt down. A bandana is the compromise.

Easy festive

Tie a bandana or scarf loosely, two fingers under the knot. Orange, black, plaid, whatever is clean.

Safety

No dangling pieces near the mouth. Skip masks and tight neckwear. Watch for overheating if they have a fur coat already.

Walk night

Short loop, visible leash gear if it is dark, candy on high counters when you get home. Festive does not have to mean miserable.
