15-Minute Clutter Purge for Working Moms (Surfaces Only)

A short clutter reset that respects a workday: clear the surfaces you see every morning — counters, entry, desk — without a whole-house project.

15-Minute Clutter Purge for Working Moms (Surfaces Only)

You do not have a free Saturday for a garage system. You have fifteen minutes and surfaces that ambush you before coffee.

Timer on. Three zones only.

  1. Kitchen counter / island edge.
  2. Entry drop zone (table, bench, or floor by the door).
  3. Work-from-home desk or the chair that became a desk.

The four baskets (use grocery bags if needed)

  • Trash
  • Recycle
  • Relocate (belongs in another room — walk it once at the end)
  • Decide later (limit: what fits in one small bag; if it overflows, decide now)

Rules that keep it honest

  • Doors stay closed on closets you are not doing tonight.
  • Laundry on the chair gets a binary: hamper or wear once more. Not a fold-everything spiral.
  • Kids' art: photograph one piece, recycle three. Sentiment is allowed in small doses.

When you find sellable clutter

Jewelry, gadgets, and unused gifts in good shape can join the closet clean-out sell pile. Do not stop the timer to open Poshmark mid-purge — park them in a "to list" bag.

Done looks like

Clear surfaces, full trash bag out, Relocate bag emptied once. The house is not magazine-ready. Morning-you can see the counter. That is the win.
