The formula (already in the closet)
- Soft tee you do not mind getting marker on.
- Cardigan or open sweater that covers a work top if you came from the office, or hides that you did not.
- Jeans or pull-on pants you can sit on a curb in.
- Shoes you can walk the parking lot inthe cute heel stays in the car if it must.
Why it works
The cardigan is the whole outfit. It reads intentional without requiring a second outfit change between Zoom and the carpool lane.
What to skip
A shopping haul titled “fall capsule.” If the tee pills and the cardigan pills with it, that is texture, not a reason to buy five new neutrals today. Wear what you have; mend or retire later.
