Cooler weather makes it easy to forget SPF. But UVA, the kind tied to skin aging, stays steady year-round and passes through car windows.

Layer it right

  1. Moisturizer (or skip if your SPF is hydrating)
  2. Sunscreen, two finger lengths for face and neck
  3. Wait two to three minutes
  4. Makeup, pressed on rather than buffed hard

Stop the pilling

Pilling usually means too many silicone-heavy layers or rushing. Use fewer products and give each one a minute.

Textures that behave

Fluid or gel sunscreens sit best under foundation. Tinted mineral SPF can replace foundation entirely on low-effort days.

Reapply hack

A powder or mist SPF over makeup at lunch is better than nothing on long outdoor days like a fall festival or soccer tournament.
