Cooler mornings are already asking for a middle layer that works from the sidewalk to a soft indoor day. NikeSKIMS just made that ask more literal: the collaboration is shipping its first outerwear, plus a bold University Red colorway across select styles.
What Nike says shipped
According to Nike’s October 19, 2026 newsroom release, NikeSKIMS introduced outerwear for the first time, available globally October 22 at nike.com/NikeSKIMS and SKIMS.com/NikeSKIMS, with select Nike, SKIMS, and partner retail locations to follow.
Two new material lanes matter for real wardrobes:
- Sherpa with Nike Therma-FIT: a vest, half-zip jacket, and hooded jacket built for soft warmth.
- Crunchy Nylon with water-repellent fabric: a cropped jacket, hooded parka, short, and wide-leg pants with more structure and volume.
University Red is framed as this season’s defining new color across Matte, Weightless Layers, Performance Cotton Blend, Crunchy Nylon, footwear, and accessories. Returning franchises (Weightless Layers, Stretch Nylon, Performance Cotton Blend, Stretch Knit, Matte, Airy) stay in the mix.
We are not listing prices here. Check Nike or SKIMS the same day for current stock and sizing.
How BCL would wear it
Treat Sherpa as the layer you keep on in cold classrooms, offices, and carpool lines when the coat comes off. Treat crunchy nylon as the piece that handles damp sidewalks without forcing a full rain system. Pair either with black or charcoal bottoms you already trust so the new colorway does the talking.
If University Red feels loud for your week, start with one outerwear silhouette in a quieter color and let the system do the rest. Collaboration drops do not require a full closet rewrite.
Why it matters this week
Post-Halloween closets are already messy. A named outerwear drop with a clear launch window is easier to evaluate than scrolling endless “fall jacket” feeds with no source. Decide once: vest for indoor warmth, half-zip for school runs, or parka for wet mornings. Then stop shopping the category for a while.
