Muddy fields and rainy drop-offs are part of fall. Your boots can handle them without looking like garden gear.

Look for

  • Chelsea or ankle shapeslides on fast with a kid on your hip
  • Matte rubber finish instead of shiny
  • Pull tab for one-handed on/off
  • Lined or room for wool socks as it gets colder

Wear them with

Straight jeans tucked or cuffed, leggings, or a midi skirt. Black or dark olive goes with everything.

Shop

A pair of waterproof Chelsea rain boots usually costs less than leather and lasts through puddle season.
