Six kids, two hours, one craft, one game, pizza, and costumes from home. Beautifully Chaotic Life does not host a carnival in a living room. We host a contained window of fun that ends before adults lose speech.

## Scope that saves you

- **Headcount:** six kids including yours, or fewer
- **Time:** two hours start to pickup
- **Food:** pizza plus fruit and water (cupcakes optional, not mandatory)
- **Activities:** one craft station, one active game, free play in costume
- **Decor:** what you already own, plus a bowl of candy at the exit

If someone asks to add a bounce house, the answer is a kind no.

## Timeline

**T-minus 1 day:** Confirm headcount. Text parents end time and pickup rule. Buy pizza ingredients or schedule the order. Clear a craft table. Charge a speaker.

**T-minus 1 hour:** Move breakables. Park pets. Set craft supplies in trays. Pre-portion snacks. Put trash bags where you can reach them.

**Hour 1:** Arrival buffer (10 minutes). Craft (25 minutes). Pizza (25 minutes).

**Hour 2:** Active game (20 minutes). Free play and music (25 minutes). Cake or cupcakes if you are doing them (15 minutes). Exit candy and shoes (10 minutes).

End on time even if the room is loud. Future invitations depend on parents trusting your clock.

## One craft that works

Paper plate masks or ghost paper bag puppets. Pre-cut what you can. Limit glue sticks to the table. Put finished crafts in a labeled bag per kid for pickup. Glitter is banned unless you hate your floor.

## One active game

Frozen dance party, costume parade across the hallway, or a simple scavenger hunt with five picture clues. Keep prizes identical stickers so fairness wars stay small.

## Food plan

- Cheese pizza and one veggie pizza
- Grapes or apple slices
- Water pitcher and cups
- Allergy note collected in the RSVP text

Eat before the sugar course. Seat kids. Adults get pizza at the counter standing up like the professionals they are.

## Costume expectations

Costumes from home. No costume contest unless you enjoy tears. Photos at a blank wall with a cheap string of lights if you want content. Then put the phone away.

## Cleanup in fifteen minutes

Trash first. Leftover pizza boxed for parents who want it. Craft debris into one bag. Vacuum crumbs. Pets released from exile. You may leave full decorating takedown for tomorrow morning.

## Done looks like

Kids had a party. Parents arrived to a calm pickup. You are tired, not destroyed. That is hosting as a working mom.

## Co-hosting

If another parent offers to bring pizza or run the game, say yes and assign a specific job. Vague help becomes hovering. Specific help becomes oxygen.

## Field notes for real houses

This guide assumes interruptions. Someone will ask for a snack mid-step. Pause, handle the snack, return to the next numbered action. The order matters more than the mood. If you only finish half, park a sticky note on the fridge with the next step for tonight. Momentum likes breadcrumbs.

If money is tight this month, skip every optional purchase link. Use jars, cereal boxes, grocery totes, and clothes you already own. Links are for gaps, not for status. Beautifully Chaotic Life would rather you finish the project with tape than delay joy for a package.

## Playlist and volume

Thirty minutes of upbeat kids Halloween songs, then quieter free-play music. Your neighbors deserve consideration. Keep the speaker in the room with the kids, not blasting from an open garage unless that is the plan you told the block.
