Halloween baking deserves better than the same three novelty tracks. This playlist leans witchy, moody, and women-led.

Beautifully Chaotic Life wants atmosphere while you frost cookies, not a cartoon loop that makes everyone irritable by track two.

The list

  • Stevie Nicks, "Rhiannon"
  • Kate Bush, "Running Up That Hill"
  • Siouxsie and the Banshees, "Spellbound"
  • Florence + the Machine, "Dog Days Are Over"
  • Billie Eilish, "bury a friend"
  • Fleetwood Mac, "Gypsy"
  • Lorde, "Royals" (for the dance break)

Search those titles in Spotify or Apple Music and save them to a playlist named whatever your household will actually click. Add your own deep cuts. Skip anything that spikes the kids' volume wars.

Pair it with

Brownies, pumpkin muffins, or decorating store-bought cookies with the kids. Flicker candles optional. Oven light on is enough mood sometimes.

If you are shaping cereal pumpkins or melting chocolate for bark, queue this before your hands get sticky. Pausing mid-marshmallow to fight the phone is how chocolate seizes and patience dies.

Kitchen volume rules

Keep it loud enough to feel like a season, quiet enough to hear a timer and a kid asking for help. Novelty scream-sing tracks tend to push volume up and manners down. Moody songs let you talk between verses.

Make it a tradition without a project plan

Same playlist every October. Kids will start requesting "the witchy kitchen songs." That is culture on easy mode. Update one or two tracks a year so it does not fossilize.

For grown-up only sessions

After bedtime, add longer builds and darker edges. During kid baking, keep the dance-break track handy and save the heaviest songs for icing alone with the leftover bowl.

Done looks like

Cookies decorated. Counter dusty with sugar. Playlist ended without anyone begging to switch to a kids' pad remix. Spooky season, handled.

We name tracks for search. We do not republish album art here.
